Municipal Friday Thanksgiving Service with Sierra Leone Mayor - Yvonne Ali Sawyer

On November 23rd, I, Memuna Kamara attended a wonderful event, Municipal Friday Thanksgiving Service, with my partner Ibrahim Prosper. We were invited to the event by the Freetown City Council some months back. The event started at 1pm and was located in Fourah Bay, Freetown in Jamie’s Mosque.

There were many different organizations that attended the event. Many different councilmen came out a spoke as well. This gave us the chance to meet many different people and learn all the different ways they are working to benefit the people of Sierra Leone. The event overall was very successful and we were excited to be one of the many to attend.

The mayor of Sierra Leone, Yvonne Ali Sawyer, came out and discussed how she is keeping her word on doing her best to keep the country clean and grow the community. We are seeing many improvements with keeping the country clean. It was very nice to meet Yvonne and speak with her about ways more people can get involved and make a difference. We thank her for the beautiful day, pictures, and are looking forward to attending our next event!
